Who Runs and organises the Weekend?
An organisation known as Mean Fiddler used to run Leeds Festival. However, they have recently Changed their name to “Festival Republic.”
Working At Leeds Festival
A lot of people have been messaging me, asking me how they can get a job at Leeds Festival.
If you would like to work at Leeds Festival, then you have a few options:
- You can become a member of the CAT (campsite assistance team) by visiting the DC site services website. They have already reserved places for this years festival, and apparently, if you sign up to their mailing list you can receive more information about it early on in February.
- Another option is to work for Oxfam at Leeds Festival. To apply go to www.oxfam.org.uk/stewards, or call 0870 010 8553
Is this an official website?
The answer to this question is NO. This is not an official website of the Carling Weekend Leeds Festival 2008. You can visit the Official Leeds Festival website if you wish.
Facilites
Emergency Facilities
In the case of an emergency, a member of staff or security should be contacted immediately. Leeds Festival contains several fire watch towers around its perimeter, as well as extinguishers throughout its grounds. The Yorkshire fire service are also nearby if assistance is needed.There is also a medical tent at the Festival, offering basic first aid, treatment and advice. There is also a landing point for an air ambulance in case you need to be taken to a near-by hospital.
Pharmaceuticals
The medical staff at Leeds Festival do have access to a basic range of pharmaceuticals. You can get hold of things like plasters and sun tan cream from the on site shop.
Of course there is also the nearby Tesco, that offers lots of drugs for solving those nasty hangovers as well as aches and pains
Missing Persons
All cases of missing people are handled by the welfare tent. They will look after children and assist people that have lost friends.
Food
Food is available from a vast range of places across the Leeds Festival site, but i recommend taking as much with you as you can as its very high in price on-site.
Water
Water is available throughout the arena and the campsite. According to Leeds Festival, the water is checked daily, and it suitable for drinking.
