The band finally has a new album coming out after something stupid like 14 years in the making, so what better place to promote it than Leeds?

The reasons we have for the band not playing the festival are as follows.

1. AC/DC already seem likely and with Guns ‘n’ Roses also playing it might be a little too much rock.

2. Download would seem like a more obvious choice for them.

Reasons for the band playing are as follows:

1.Long awaited new album finally finished and will be released in time for summer. (Nov 22nd 2008 is the release date.)

2. Leeds looks to be expanding and getting bigger acts every year.

We’re not saying its a dead cert, but the band could make an appearance. Guns ‘n’ Roses can go down as a ‘weak rumour.’

The Kings of Leon sound more and more likely for Leeds Festival 2009 each day. Many folks over on the official forums are labeling the band as a ‘dead cert,’ and its no surprise considering the publicity they seem to be getting at the moment.

We here at Leedsfest.org predict that the Kings of Leon will snatch one of the three headline slots this year, what with all their new material and history of Leeds performances.

Other likely headlining acts include AC/DC, Greenday, Oasis and Muse.

The band have a brand new album out in the early part of 2009, and have already apparently turned down a slot at this years Download festival.

Readers and festival goes also pointed out that the bands album was heavily advertised at Leeds and Reading festival this year, maybe indicating that that band will be promoting it at the next one?!

What would be your opinion of the band playing?

Instead I have organised them neatly in the line-up page. This will be reguarly updated as rumours for the festival come in.

I will cover more solid information in the blog as it comes in, and expect more posts from the 21st September. This is when I stop working full time and move back to university.
