According to numerous sorces there was a serious incident on Sunday Night of Leeds Festival 2006
DID YOU SEE AN INCIDENT ON SUNDAY NIGHT?
Yorkshire Police are looking for witnesses to a incident at the Carling Weekend: Leeds Festival this weekend at which a woman was raped. The 27-year old female was raped during or shortly after the Arctic Monkeys set at the festival on Sunday.
A man, described as being “in his 20s, 6ft with dark hair and wearing a dark overcoat and white T-shirt” dragged the victim behind a food stall where the assault took place.
The woman said she saw a group of men watching the assault as it took place, and police are keen to track them down as potential witnesses. “They were in no way involved and were simply unwitting witnesses. But they could have important evidence for us,” said a police spokesperson. “The music was very loud and there was a lot of yelling and screaming from people at the festival. We think they just dismissed it as a courting couple involved in horseplay.
“They wouldn’t have realised it was serious sexual assault. It was either whilst The Arctic Monkeys were on stage or soon after.”
