Best Leeds Festival Memory

March 8, 2008, Just For Fun |   |

leeds memoryWrite your best memory of Leeds Festival. It can be anything from drug induced madness to just seeing your favorite band play.

I think one of mine has to be seeing CSS at the 2007 festival. It was just so amazing to see a band that I liked so much.

probably almost dying in the monsterous pit of sweat and ravenous mess that was the crowd for Klaxons at 07…

…or destroying the East Yorkshire camp with our catapult, firing many things from spam to bottles filled with ‘yellow liquid’

Lostprophets: “Yea.. man.. well done you made it onto the stage.. is there anything you want to say?”

    Random drunken guy… “CHEESE TENT!”

The random two lines of people through which you hand to run (if chosen by them at random by them pointing and shouting “YOU!”) high fiving everyone on both sides of you as they cheered… It made going to the loo in the middle of the night a more exciting experience, and also made you forget for a brief moment the smell that you would have to put up with…

Random drunkeness and music… Bring on Leeds 2008!!! :D

Gogol Bordello with their full-on version of Wonderlust King at Leeds 2007 and watching Muse battle through the elements in a horrendous downpour in 2006 when practically everyone had disappeared under cover. Felt like I was getting a personal concert - worth getting soaked for in my books.

Just generally the whole festival. Being outside the Klaxons tent 2007, thinking i’d gone deaf and not knowing where i was.
The Waltsers on poppers and copious booze.
Finding some guy with a tiny tortoise and thining it was the craziest tortoise ever to be at a festival!
I swear its the best place on earth :) Bring on leeds festival 2008!

    mann where to start

05 - lemmon jelly weird dace screens showing weird colours, dancinging off my face then the pixies, hippy air about everything, loadsa campfiress dancingg to the pixies filling the world with my favourate people ever

06 - muse, drunk. lightning behind stagee and dancing in the rain. euphoricness

07 - Silent discoo! amazing times, food fights in blue, and best of all beer bong man, our local superhero. after downing a can of strongbow or carling through a funnel he then proceded to jump over an unspespecting tent and crush it. the look on the face of the guy camped next to us every time he came back and his tent had been demolished

leeds 06. “whos that guy whos joined in our campfire, handing out tinnies??….he looks familiar”
only BLOODY JOHN TICKLE OF BRANIAC FAME/??!!?

he sat with us for a good hour, denying he was john tickle, instead insisting his name was ‘john smith’ and that he didnt even look like him.

well you didnt fool us, or the boy who followed me back from the toilets proclaiming he was a wizzard called merlin and the tent pole he was carrying was a staff.

    brilliant.

Haha! Lol mint, if ur back this yr u’s should doit again, I think at first it scares pple but its class!

If we’re commenting about other festival highlights in previous years other than 2007, than the year of the riot at the bottom of the biggest hill with the bins turned over and people drumming on them was pretty cool it sounded like pro’s were drumming lol. We only ended up down there coz we wonderd what the drumming noise was!

The security were pretty heavy handed though, wacking that poor guy down after chasing him around a tent lol, although it was rather comical (the fact they couldnt catch him)

    xXx

haha well once we had arrived and pitched our tent the proper drinking began, and i can remember giving my friend a piggy back as we were running to the security people and of course we both fell flat over becos of the lumpy ground lol…the evening events also included the loss ov both my converse, getting pictures of a random man climbling to the top of the radio 1 tent supports, and finding items from the stalls such as hats etc in our tent the next morning, when im sure we never bought them :S…

Being out on leave and drinking that much beer during my time there. Losing my phone, car keys and wallet watching the fall in 2006 then waking up in different places each morning.

Still I found out how easy it is to break into/hotwire a 1999 Fiat Punto.

The best memory was the whole festival and popping my festival virginity!

Key moments - The silent disco, taking the headphones off and people screaming anthemic songs from their lungs.
The Pigeon detectives - right at the front with people jumping up and down to take her back!
The Klaxons - Everyone going wild with neon everywhere and an amazing light show within the tent.
Going on the swings time and time again whilst wanting to totally puke all the compious amounts of alcohol and disgusting food from the horrible takeaway food vans.

Leeds 2008 - Bring it on. Lets hope we get a good line-up
